About Us

The Ontario eLearning Consortium is a grass roots partnership of District School Boards who, since 2001, have worked together to develop and deliver online courses, resources and modules, train teachers, perform quality assurance, and increase learning opportunities for students province-wide. Currently the Consortium supports 19 member boards, both Public and Catholic, representing close to 900,000 students who reside in both metropolitan and rural areas throughout Ontario.

The Consortium promotes:

  • Capacity Building - bringing together the expertise, experience and resources of several school districts.
  • Course and Resource Sharing - provides the opportunity to share in the delivery of online courses and resources.
  • Curriculum and Resource Development - share the cost and expertise in developing and enhancing online curriculum and digital resources.
  • Training - share the cost and expertise in teacher training, research and development.
  • Quality Assurance - share the costs and expertise for curriculum and resource review.
  • Advocacy - a common voice and extensive support network that identifies and effectively addresses issues relate to funding, staffing, procedures, practices, curriculum and legislation to best meet student learning needs.
